Sprinters go for gold in school athletics competition

HYDE PARK - Hyde Park High School won its first athletics meeting of the season.

They beat Krugersdorp, Roosevelt and Fourways high schools.

Avril Wright of Hyde Park High School said the third term of the school year got off on a high note as the starters gun went off for the athletics season.

The school also hosted an athletics meeting at home between Bryanston, Edenglen and Roosevelt high schools. “The competition was fierce, with Hyde Park and Bryanston high schools vying for the first place podium,” said Wright.

Hyde Park was placed second overall with Bryanston in first place, Roosevelt in third place and Edenglen in fourth position.
