Father killed, son wounded in attempted hijacking

MARLBORO GARDENS - A father was shot and killed in an attempted hijacking in Marlboro Gardens at 7.15pm on 14 August.

Sandton police spokesperson Captain Kym Cloete said the father (52) had just collected his son (20) from the Marlboro Gautrain Station and they were driving through Marlboro Gardens.

At the corner of Laduma and Lennon roads, they were accosted by two suspects who fired shots through the door and window of the victims’ vehicle.

The father died on the scene and the son was taken to hospital for treatment.

Cloete said police were investigating the case of murder and attempted murder and urged anyone with information to contact the police or Crime Line.

  3. I think the police stink, they are useless and that is why criminals get away with murder, because the police are too useless to catch crinals. They are too busy thinking of scams to line their own pockets, bribery and corruption. I have a mate who owns a Jewellery stone who was robbed and beaten, by Metro Cops and SAP together. They stone 5,5million rand and where do you turn to then. I know of Chinese people that have been Murdered also in the industry I’m told 10 people murdered on the past year, not on of then has any police feedback. Get away with murder in SA. Gangsters Paradise why don’t we implement National Service into the Police Force because a national serviceman will pick out lazy gravy train corrupt policeman very quickly. There needs to be accountability for these people!!!!!!!

  6. I am the aunt and sister in law of the victims it is a true tragedy and because of this sensless murder my sister is left without a husband my niece and nephew without a father and my family without a beloved brother in law and uncle.
