DA retains Ward 32
SANDTON - Democratic Alliance candidate, Bongani Nkomo, emerged victorious in the Ward 32 by-election that recently took place.
The by-election took place after the former councillor of Ward 32, Darren Bergman, was elected to represent the DA in Parliament.
Nkomo won the election with 55.51% of the vote, edging out fellow candidates, Tebogo Sithathu from the African National Congress, and Thobekile Xaba, from the Inkatha Freedom Party.
The election took place on 13 August in the ward, which consists of the surburbs of Buccleuch, Frankenwald, Linbro Park AH and extensions, Lombardy East, Modderfontein AH and Extension 2.
