Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley police, said the girl was headed to Marlboro when the incident occurred.
“She climbed into a white Avanza taxi at about 6pm and inside was the taxi driver and three men sitting in the back seat,” explained Maphakela.
He said the girl realised that the taxi was headed in the wrong direction and she asked the taxi driver where he was going.
“The taxi driver told her to keep her mouth shut. She tried to open the door but it was locked.”
Maphakela said when the girl looked back at the three male passengers who were sitting in the back seat their faces were covered with black balaclavas.
“She was commanded not to scream and threatened that she would be killed if she did,” said Maphakela.
He said at about 6.30pm the taxi driver stopped at a place in Marlboro where they forced the girl into a dark room that had no furniture and four mattresses on the floor.
Maphakela explained, “They undressed her and took turns raping her without a condom.” He said the taxi driver did not have his face covered throughout the entire incident.
The girl was only released from the dark room the following day at about 10am. Maphakela said the girl was taken out of the room by the taxi driver and instructed to get inside a green Jetta. “She was dropped off at Eastbank Park and told not to tell anyone about what had happened or else she would be killed,” added Maphakela.
“The taxi driver then drove off at high speed, leaving her at Eastbank Park.”
Maphakela said the girl went home and told her mother of her ordeal. The girl informed the police that she would be able to identify the taxi driver.
No arrests have been made and an investigation is pending.

This poor woman, I sincerely hope that as a community and society we can assist her and protect her. I also really hope we can catch these thugs and lock em for life! To damage another human being to such a sickening extent is just disgusting. Bring back the death penalty and make MR TAXI Driver accountable for his actions!
