Rivonia resident donates R15 000 to SPCA

Van Heerden explained that the money came from Nedbank’s Local Hero programme. “The programme is an annual initiative where employees of Nedbank can apply for money to give to any charity of their choice.”

She said she chose to give to Midrand SPCA as the animals needed pet food. “The money also came at the right time because the animals need blankets too, for winter.”

Midrand SPCA chairperson Brenda Lucas said the donation was a welcome relief. “We are thankful for all the support we get, this money is going to assist in purchasing much-needed pet food and blankets for animals.”
