Woodmead armed robbery suspects arrested

WOODMEAD - Two suspects involved in an armed robbery were arrested by the Sandton Detective Field Team on 23 June in Waterfall Crescent,Woodmead.

Captain Kym Cloete of the Sandton police said, “At 10.15am an armed robbery took place in Waterfall Crescent. Two victims were unloading property for a local business when they were approached by approximately 4 to 6 armed suspects.”

The victims were pushed into their delivery vehicle and were driven to a depot in Eastgate, just off Marlboro Drive. Cloete said that the suspects unloaded the property into their own vehicle and fled the scene.

Two of the suspects were caught by the Sandton Detective Field Team. The first suspect was arrested in the early afternoon of 23 June, and the second in the morning of 24 June.

Captain Cloete said, “The suspects will appear in Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on 25 June on charges of armed robbery and unlawful possession of ammunition.”
