DJ launches Boston bursary drive

SANDTON - Aspiring media students are encouraged to grab the opportunity for a course at Boston Media House Benmore Campus as YFM DJ Mo Flava gives away four bursaries worth more than R350 000.

Students may choose to study a course in either media, radio, broadcasting or graphic design at Boston Media House as the DJ’s initiative to empower the youth.

“This is great news, and we are thrilled that Mo once again selected Boston for this empowering bursary drive, so we can together set sight on creating more success stories,” said Carike Verbooy, a registrar at Boston Media House. “Celebrities and public figures are aware that they have a social responsibility and what better way to honour this than through education.”

Mo added, “The gift of education is after all the gift that keeps on giving and for me, a Boston Media House graduate, the inspiration behind this bursary drive is all about helping others achieve their dreams.”

He said the bursary giveaway earlier this year was an enormous success and the amount of matriculants who auditioned was remarkable. “It showed me that there are so many young people eager to study and better themselves, this I support and encourage fully,” he said.

He said it is even more pleasing for him to know that the larger percentage of applicants will come from disadvantaged backgrounds who are unable to study due to financial constraints. “It is my wish to again help four such young people take the next step in their education,” said Mo.

The next auditions will take place at the campus on 28 June and 12 July.
