Woman hit and robbed at Wanderers Stadium festival

ILLOVO - Two cellphones and a purse were stolen from a woman who attended a festival at the Wanderers Stadium in Illovo.

This according to Bramley Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela. He said the woman alleged that she was approached by three suspects who tried to grab her handbag but were unsuccessful at first.

Maphakela explained, “One of the suspects then hit her arm, then pushed her on her lower back and managed to take her belongings.” He said the suspects took the woman’s two cellphones, her purse with R250 inside, as well as her credit cards.

Maphakela said video footage was available, however the incident took place in a dark area and the images of the suspects are unclear. No arrests have been made.
