Adoption home grateful for maternal support
ILLOVO – Princess Alice Adoption Home organised a day of gratitude for mothers at a Mother’s Day Garden Party at La Vie en Rose Restaurant.

Mothers were treated to a day of pampering and good food, and spoiled with fashion and talent shows from their children. According to the home’s manager, Jo-Anne Schermeier the Mother’s Day Garden Party was a great experience.
“It was well-attended with a wonderful mix of people,” she said. Schermeier said holding the party gave the home a platform and exposure that they could never achieve by themselves.
“It is really good to see and hear our name being spoken about, mentioned on social media and to be part of the growing awareness,” said Schermeier. When asked about the support from the organisers, Celebrity Cherubs she said, “I am bowled over by the energy and passion that Carmel Fisher puts into her work to raise both the profile and income for smaller charities, and gets other personalities on board as well.”
The home sold hanging flower baskets and T-shirts at the event.
All proceeds will go directly towards caring for the babies in its nursery, which includes food, formula, medicines and basic toiletries.
