Hotelier in the making

SANDTON - Kyle Willis is proud to be the brand ambassador for the Sandton campus of the International Hotel School.

“I will proudly hold the title of brand ambassador for the duration of my studies and take this experience with me into the workplace,” said Willis.

Willis (19) from Pretoria East is in his second year of Hospitality Management. He said that he always knew he wanted to get into the hospitality industry despite attending Hatfield Christian School in Pretoria.

He said “Being an extrovert, I knew that I wanted to be in this particular industry. I want to provide the best service for future hotel guests.”

This adventure lover holds family close to his heart and enjoys pushing himself the extra mile. “Some of my latest achievements include achieving two A’s with an IEB matric and winning the International Hotel School’s Sandton Campus bursary competition in 2012, which I’m so grateful for. A family friend of mine, who is a former student, informed me about the school and the opportunities they offer. They were also running their annual bursary competition at the time, which I entered. I realised during the competition that I wanted to be in the hospitality industry and I was going to attend at the school, regardless of the result.” he said.

In the next few years, Willis sees himself graduating from the International Hotel School and eventually working in a management position, at an established hotel.
