Resident Muhammad Ally is worried about the security threat and by the unsightly mess of the long grass.
He said, “Residents in Dodge Street in Woodmead are complaining.”
Ally had escalated the complaint to Ursula Naidoo from City Parks and requested landscaping or tree planting along the street. He said after personnel from the entity arrived to cut the grass, they left the job incomplete. “When they cut the grass they left out the verges,” added Ally.
“City Parks grass cutters were in the Woodmead area and cut the grass along Bowling Avenue, however they completely left out the grass along Dodge Street.”
Jenny Moodley, spokesperson for City Parks had assured him that workers would return to Dodge Street and cut the grass on 28 February – but Ally said no grass was cut on the day.
“The grass remains uncut. I think it was because of the rainy weather we’ve had. I did see a City Parks truck on the day but no grass was cut,” he concluded.
