Education versus hard work in business
SANDTON - Controversial acting chief operations officer of the SABC, Hlaudi Motsoeneng addressed claims about his education at the Regenesys Business School in Sandton.

He has been in the news with claims that he did not have a matric certificate and that he issues questionable salary progressions.
In his defence, he said leadership was not only about education, but about whether an individual can do the job or not. He said, “I think it is important for people to go to school. I am not an academic but my blood is broadcasting. I know broadcasting.”
Motsoeneng spoke about his work ethic, beliefs and personal experiences.
“Many people have degrees but the question is do they add value or not? What we need to do is teach our children about hard work as well,” he said. Motsoeneng said the SABC needed to lead by example and encourage the principle of hard work. “When people are paid well they will work hard. Employees must be proud to work for their company. Management should recognise its employees.” Motsoeneng also said he did not believe in a top-down leadership structure. “I believe in consultation because knowledge is power,” he explained.
Guests engaged Motsoeneng and asked him various questions about how he planned to take the SABC forward. Miyelani Mkhabela, the director and strategist at Antswisa Management Group said Motsoeneng portrayed self-confidence in his leadership. “He emphasised that even though he does not have high qualifications, he ensures that all his subordinates have the required skills and qualifications to be productive at the national broadcaster,” said Mkhabela.

I think Mr Motsoeneng is right you pay your employees well they do the work happily and they do it well. Again it is not about education it about delivering what you are suppose to deliver. You deliver with no education am content about it
