Police tight-lipped about Zuma’s son

SANDTON - POLICE remain tight-lipped about Duduzane Zuma being investigated for culpable homicide.

Brigadier Neville Malila, Gauteng police spokesperson said, “The case is still under investigation. No new information has come through. The police are still continuing with their investigations.”

Edna Mamonyane of the Metro police confirmed that a Porsche collided with a minibus taxi which was transporting commuters on 1 February. She said it was raining on the day of the crash which took place on Grayston Drive in Sandton. One person died while two others were injured. The police have not commented on the condition of the two critically injured passengers who were admitted to hospital.

Wayne Minnaar, Metro police spokesperson said, “After the case has been handed over to the South African National Police, it is out of our hands but in theirs and there is nothing more that we can say.”

SABC News reported that the taxi driver has since come forward claiming that the accident had left him penniless. According to the report, the taxi driver also said he can no longer continue with his business as his taxi was badly damaged after the crash. The report also said the taxi driver was supposed to be contacted by Zuma after they had a conversation at the scene of the crash, but

Zuma never did so. Mamonyane said when the police officer arrived at the scene of the accident Zuma was talking to the taxi driver and “everything was fine”.
