Volunteers needed to assist victims of crime

SANDTON - The Sandton Community Policing Forum Victim Support Unit is looking for volunteer trauma counsellors for victims of crime in the Sandton police precinct.

“This is our annual intake of persons desiring to undergo training as a trauma counsellor,” said Cathy Barnard, Sandton victim support training co-ordinator. Volunteers must be at least 27 years of age, and have their own transport.

Regardless of experience, training will be provided at a cost of R300 per person.

The course comprises two one-day sessions on 29 March and 6 April 2014.
