Honouring the top copsORSandton police celebrate top cops

SANDTON - Sandton police honoured their top cops at the Sandton Police Station.

Brigadier Alan Billings opened the Top Cops Awards ceremony and thanked everyone for their efforts towards working together and fighting crime in the community. Vouchers were awarded to police officers whose work performances stood out in the last quarter.

Constables Adolph Ubisi and Eddy Nkuna were awarded and praised for their actions during a stop and search operation in December last year. “Their diligence led to a successful arrest,” said Billings.

Constable Petrus Nenzehlele was complimented for his dedication to the job. Billings said, “He excels in his duties and he works well under pressure without supervision. “Constable Nenzehlele was not even booked off sick once in the last quarter”.

Warrant Officer Bruce MacIntosh was awarded for his detective work. “He risked his life and chased armed suspects after they fled from a housebreaking scene last year. “He was shot at during the incident but his commitment to the job has not stopped him,” added Billings.

Detective Thabelo Kwinda was commended for his work as a vehicle fleet manager. “He continues to show dedication towards his job,” said Billings.

All the police officers were honoured for their performances and encouraged to continue the good work. “We really thank you all for all your hard work,” said Wendy Vorster-Robertson, chairperson of the Sandton Community Police Forum. “Thank you for working so well with us, we appreciate everything you do for this community.”
