FourPaws rescues need help

FOURWAYS- FourPaws animal shelter outside Diepsloot is making an urgent plea to the public for help with a recent rescue case and cat supplies which they are in desperate need of.

FourPaws regularly sends inspectors into disadvantaged areas to offer veterinary support to animals in dire need of care.

The shelter also takes in abandoned or abused dogs and cats.

On a recent inspection of a township in Krugersdorp the FourPaws team found a dog that had been hit by a car several days before.

The dog’s wounds were badly infected and the shelter’s vet found that she also had open infected compound fractures of her left ulna and radius, with sand and hair packed into the bone marrow cavity.

They had no choice but to amputate the dog’s leg.

FourPaws asks the public to please contribute to the dog’s medical bills so that she can get the care she needs to recover from her ordeal.

The animal shelter also has a number of cats that are desperately looking for homes. One of them is three-legged Storm and his sister Skye, who are both very good with dogs and other cats.

Due to FourPaws housing so many cats and kittens that are awaiting adoption they are in desperate need of kitten food and cat litter.

To donate R10 to FourPaws SMS 4PAWS to 38111.
