Joint raid leads to 43 arrests

SANDTON - A Joint raid took place in Strathavon on 22 January to tackle criminal activity in the community.

Ward 91 councillor Andrew Stewart said, “This was a successful operation but obviously it should be done as regularly as possible. Thank you to all those who participated.” The joint raid was attended by the Johannesburg Metro police, South African Police Services, as well as various security services and volunteers from Home Affairs.

At the end of the raid, 43 suspects were arrested for various criminal activities. Stewart said, “All of those arrested were taken for finger prints and checked for outstanding warrants of arrest. The waterways that run past Innes Free and at the back of Strathavon were patrolled, as well as the area around the bridge at Benmore Gardens, the Sandton Fire Station and the derelict houses on Willowbrook.”
