Beware of hiring casual labour

JOBURG - Police have issued a warning that casual labourers often contribute to crime.

Warrant Officer Balan Muthan, spokesman for Douglasdale Police Station warned that street labourers are more often than not bad news.

He said, “Hiring cheap labour off the street to perform work at their homes [is a risk]. There have been incidents where people were hired and items were stolen from vehicles.”

He said it often happened that the labourers would then disappear after stealing items
