Festive feast for charityORGourmet dinner benefits charity
SANDTON - Ernie Els Wines held a gourmet dinner for charity at the Michaelangelo Hotel.
The glamorous event was hosted by Ernie Els Wines head winemaker, Louis Strydom. “Those that come to the dinner know their money goes to a good cause,” he said.
A R40 000 check was handed over to Rays of Hope in Alexandra. It is a non-profit community based organisation which manages a large number of social outreach projects with a particular focus on Alexandra.
Project coordinator at Rays of Hope, Trish Lockwood, said she was grateful for all the support they received and she thanked the guests for their contribution to Rays of Hope.
“We’re ending off the year with a bang,” said Jeff Lopez, one of the managers at Piccolo Mondo restaurant, at the Michaelangelo Hotel in Sandton. Guests were treated to Ernie Els wines and food prepared by chef Rob Creaser which included Pan roasted of Mauritian seabass, saddle of rabbit roulade, date and cherry glazed duck breast and Giardino di parmigiano. To end off the night guests were treated to a dessert which included chocolate sponge, pistachio mousse, mint pearl, fruit cake ice cream and chocolate pebbles.
