Slow down, animals crossing

PAULSHOF - The Paulshof Residents and Ratepayers Association and City Parks came together to give Holkham Road its very own animal crossing sign.

The Paulshof community chipped in to sponsor the sign which warns motorists that the section of Holkham Road, just outside the Rietfontien Nature Reserve, is a regular crossing for many animals that live in the reserve.

Friends of Rietfontein representatives explained, “There are a lot of really fast drivers on Holkham Road and they need to be aware that they are driving passed a nature reserve.”

They added that if motorists stick to the speed limit it would also ensure the safety of pedestrians and other motorists too.
