A big thank you for all the little smiles

THE Smile Foundation hosted a cocktail evening to express their gratitude for the support they have received throughout the year.

Smile Foundation assists children who suffer from treatable facial anomalies with free corrective plastic and reconstructive surgery.

They thanked the participants in the Ride4Smiles Cycle Challenge, as well as the donors supporting the cause.

As part of an outreach programme, 20 participants from the Wits Students Surgical Society will ride in the 94.7 Cycle Challenge on 17 November to raise funds for children who need surgery and treatments.

Companies were asked to donate towards the foundation’s cause in exchange for students completing the Cycle Challenge.

Last year, the society raised nearly R80 000, which is the equivalent of facial reconstruction surgeries for seven children, and the students aim to raise even more this year.

Joining the riders in this challenge are celebrities Hayley Owen, Hlubi Mboya, Anel Alexander, James Alexander, DJ Milkshake and Wayne Kreunen.
