Petrol price to drop on 6 November

JOHANNESBURG - Motorists can breathe a sigh of relief as the price of petrol is set to drop by 28 cents per litre on 6 November.

The Department of Energy announced the decrease of all grades of petrol, including diesel which will drop by 15 cents a litre.

The changes were attributed to the decrease in the Brent crude oil price and the strengthening of the rand against the US dollar among other factors.

“The main reasons for the strengthening of the rand against the US dollar are mainly attributable to the termination of the US Government shutdown as the USA political parties reached agreement to increase the US debt ceiling,” said the department in a statement.
