Passionate cyclist empowers township riders

MIKE Ferreira, a Bryanston High School pupil has used his talent to enable development in less fortunate people who share his passion.

Ferreira is a member of the McCarthy Nissan Complete Cyclist team, and he organised a skill-building day for cyclists of Diepsloot.

Ferreira is extremely passionate about the sport and takes part in races on a regular basis. He is no stranger to the steps on the podium and constantly strives to achieve more.

“I decided that I wanted to get involved with helping out the Diepsloot Academy. In previous races with these gentlemen I had noticed that I

could add some value to their technical skills,” said Ferreira.

Ferreira spent the day guiding the boys who displayed potential, skill and enthusiasm for their sport.

“It was a major success as all of the boys displayed great skill improvement and had the ability to take some of the biggest and most intimidating drops in the park. All I can say is that they are such a great bunch of boys with true potential to succeed in the sport.”
