Cycle for skills
Bryanston High School pupil Mike Ferreira, who is part of the McCarthy Nissan Complete cyclist team, has started sharing his cycle skills and talent with individuals who have not had the opportunity to develop their skills.
He contacted the Diepsloot Mountain Bike Academy and set up a day with a few of the pupils where he taught them some of his cycling skills. “I decided that I wanted to get involved with helping out the Diepsloot academy. In previous races with these gentlemen I had noticed that I could add some value to their technical skills,” Ferreira said.
Ferreira said he took a few pupils from the academy to the PWC bike park, and with a little guidance these boys displayed true potential with their skills and an overall enthusiasm for the sport.
Ferreira said the day was a major success and all of the boys displayed great skills improvement and had the ability to take on some of the biggest and most intimidating drops in the park.
“All I can say is that they are such a great bunch of boys with true potential to succeed in the sport.”
“Thank you to PWC bike park for allowing us free entrance to a fantastic training facility and to Complete cyclists for your contribution with much-needed spare parts for the bikes,” he said.
