Mixed Martial Arts fighters win Cage Wars
Mixed Martial Arts fighters Robert Sibowe and Dwanye Potgieter won fights in the South African Professional Martial Arts Commission's (SAPMAC) Cage Wars competition.

Sibowe and Potgieter both won their fights by technical knockout.
Potgieter competed in Cage Wars and won by a triangle submission in the first round. He went on to win the Cage Wars Submission of the Night title.
Sibowe started bodybuilding and weightlifting in 2006 and progressed into Mixed Martial Arts. He started specialising in Muay Thai this year. Potgieter started boxing three years ago and Mixed Martial Arts a year ago. They are both seniors and fight in the over 18 category. The fight functions according to weight categories: Potgieter is 65-70kg and Sibowe 70kg.
They both can see how their martial arts academy Black Hawks has improved their fighting as all-round fighters. Enjoying the challenges in a ring or a cage, Potgieter and Sibowe find the experience of fighting thrilling and humbling.
“I enjoyed Cage Wars the most as I won Submission of the Night and did not expect it, as I had been labelled as a stand up fighter, so winning a fight on the ground was a huge achievement,” said Potgieter.
