Hyde Park accident causes traffic delays
CRAIGHALL - A motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Jan Smuts Avenue and 6th Road, Hyde Park, caused severe delays on the morning of 29 August.
According to Caxton reporter Lesego Motshegwa, traffic travelling towards Randburg was backed up from the corner of Bompas Road and Jan Smuts Avenue, and traffic towards Rosebank was backed up to the intersection of Jan Smuts Avenue and Abercorn Avenue.
“Four Gautrain buses were parked on Jan Smuts Avenue because they couldn’t turn into 6th Road. The drivers were walking around, and the traffic on William Nicol Drive looked disastrous,” she said.
Metro police were on the scene, however spokesperson Superintendent Wayne Minnaar could not confirm any details about the accident.
