A little wool goes a long way

SANDTON Chronicle's May community champion, Val Stewart, has appealed to the community to support her and the SPCA through donations of wool, of any kind.

Stewart was nominated as champion for her annual wool-knitting endeavours, in which she knits jerseys of all shapes and sizes to fit the animals in the SPCA’s care. Each year, her hard working hands produce some 80 jerseys.

SPCA public relations officer and fundraiser Candice Scorer has called Stewart an asset to the non-profit organisation. “We need many more people like Val,” she said when Stewart was chosen as community champion.

For more information on how you can support through wool donations or sponsorships, contact the Sandton SPCA on 011-444-7730.
