Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson of the Bramley police, said that the arrest happened at the corner of Pansy Crescent and Zinnia Drive at about 8am on 16 July. In addition to the firearm, two rounds of ammunition were found in their possession. Maphakela said that the serial number on the firearm had been filed down.
He said that the men were found to be linked to eight cases of armed robbery and three of car hijackings. They were 21- and 22-years old.
