HeronBridge cricket teams win on Natal tour

HeronBridge College Open A and U11 A teams travelled to Hilton in the Natal Midlands to play Cowan House.

Open A played the hosting school, winning by nine wickets.

The following day the teams played in a six-a-side tournament at Hilton College and won six of their nine games. The U11 A cricketers played spectacularly in wet and rainy conditions and bowled out Cowan House for 69 runs.

In reply, HeronBridge scored 70 runs for two wickets in only nine overs, to win the game by eight wickets. The U11 A team also took part in Cowan House’s annual six-a-side tournament on a Sunday morning, playing two games of cricket and a six-a-side indoor soccer match.

“The boys were outstanding and both our U11 teams finished the day unbeaten. Many parents went along for support,” said Candice Gibson, marketing and operations assistant at HeronBridge College.
