
The incident took place at around 6:30pm on 12 August at an Engen garage and, according to Captain Kym Cloete, of Sandton police, approximately four suspects were involved in the robbery.
“The suspects stole money from the till at the garage and some cigarettes, and also took customers’ cellphones and jewellery during the robbery,” she said.
The value of the stolen goods remains unknown, and it is unclear if anyone was injured. Cloete added that the robbers were driving a white Chevrolet when the robbery took place.
The spokesperson for Sandton police confirmed that a case of business robbery has been opened and that police are still investigating the matter.
