VIDEO: Woman strips then hugs Mandela statue
SANDTON - Bystanders were left baffled after a woman stripped down in front of the Nelson Mandela statue in Mandela Square. (WARNING: CONTAINS NUDITY)

Although the identity of the mystery woman who stripped at the foot of the Nelson Mandela statue in Sandton is still unknown, a video of her escapade has surfaced.

The woman then proceeded to embrace the statue, leading to bystanders taking pictures and posting them on social media.
Twitter was abuzz with people retweeting the picture along with comments including one from Henderson which said, “@SAcrimefighters no respect to the old man” in response to the image posted by @SAcrimefighters.
The incident took place today and follows reports of banners being placed on the statue on Sunday by Hamas supporters just a few days prior, on 26 July.
It is unclear why the woman stripped next to the statue and hugged it.
