Dangerous Buccleuch intersection finally secured

BUCCLEUCH - Concerned Buccleuch resident Andrew McMurray is relieved to have the dangerous intersection between Kelvin and Buccleuch secured with a new crash barrier.

He said, “The Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport have replaced the damaged crash barrier at the intersection of Pretoria Main Road and Woodmead Drive. Thank you and well done to them. A big thanks to Michael Dube from the department.”

This after McMurray and other concerned residents from Kelvin and Buccleuch appealed to the department to address the dangers at the intersection. McMurray was most concerned that the crash barriers that are supposed to act as a safety barrier for motorists, were in ruins.

“Hopefully the other issues raised will get dealt with soon,” he said.

The concerned residents were also worried that the street markings are not visible and the street lights do not work. Additionally, pedestrians crossing at the intersection have no pedestrian robots guiding them through the traffic.
