Woman assaulted with a firearm for a R3 000 cellphone

WYNBERG - A woman was attacked by three suspects who assaulted her with a firearm and took her cellphone in Wynberg.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley police said the woman was trying to open the gate to gain access to the parking lot at her workplace.

He explained, “She stopped outside the gate, got out of her car and attempted to open the gate when the three suspects appeared from nowhere and started pushing her.”

Maphakela said the woman fell to the ground.

“One of the suspects tried to take her cellphone from her back pocket but she tried to resist,” added Maphakela. He said the suspect then took out a firearm and beat her with the gun on her mouth.

The suspects managed to take the cellphone which was valued at R3 000.

No arrests have been made.
