Making a difference in children’s live
Miss Earth 2014 Gauteng regional semi-finalist, Steffani Alexander from Sandton donated items to the non-profit organisation, Oliver’s House.
She donated boxes of clothes for men, women and children, and toys, shoes and bedding to the Benoni-based organisation.
Alexander is 22 years old and is studying a BCom in financial management through Unisa. She does not see the Miss Earth South Africa pageant as a mere modelling contest.
“Miss Earth South Africa is a leadership programme aimed at young women like myself,” explained Alexander. “The programme provides a platform for each of the contestants to make a difference to communities both socially and from a development perspective.”
She said she chose Oliver’s House as the beneficiary of the donations because the home portrayed values that she believed in.
