Defence ‘entitled’ to see the witness’ wounds

JOBURG - Krejcir's defence wants to see the witness’s wounds.

This following reports by The Citizen on 20 May.

The report said the alleged underworld kingpin Radovan Krejcir’s lawyer brought an application to see the injuries of Bheki Lukhele, the witness assaulted and drenched with boiling water, allegedly by her client.

She said she wanted to see the alleged wounds in order to cross examine Lukhele further.

Krejcir’s lawyer also argued that the person who conducted the examination on Lukhele’s wounds was a nurse and not a doctor. This after the court granted an order for Lukhele to undergo an examination prior to court proceedings on 20 May.

The judge then granted her permission to take Lukhele to the defence’s own doctor to be examined.
