Neon lights up the night

SANDTON - The streets of Sandton were set aglow on 17 May when thousands of runners, dressed in their brightest apparel took to the streets for the Neon Run.

Runners, walkers and cyclists took to the 5km route with enthusiasm and gusto.

As the start siren sounded, a large cheer erupted from the group as they got underway.

The first finishers crossed the finish line within about 20 minutes of the start, but the festivities on the road kept many out significantly longer.

Participants passed official glow stations where they received glow-in-the-dark memorabilia.

After the race, participants were treated to a party of epic proportions. Artists included Shortstraw, Dean Fuel, The Kiffness, Roger Goode and Chris Taylor.

Ethan Weston, Ellen Vlok, Daniela Venditti, Audrey Lisik and Angela Whysall.
Marcus Lessing, Ryan Gunningham and Andre Langeveld.
