Field and Study Park becomes a film set

PARKMORE - The Field and Study Park became a film studio for a day when a local advertising agency used its open greens as a set to film a new advertising campaign.

Overseeing the day’s events was Rose Johnson, chairperson of the Field and Study Park. Johnson said in her 17 years of working for the centre, all kinds of events had taken place in the park. This was, however, the biggest filming event held at the facility.

She said one of the more exciting events soon to be held at the park is a husky ‘mush’, where husky dogs will pull sleds across the greens.

The park is Johnson’s main passion and she told of how she had “fought” for the large metallic dinosaur jungle gym on the outskirts of the green lawn area for over a year.

“When it arrived, I received a call saying my dinosaur had arrived – what should they do with it?” she laughed.

The park is registered as a non-profit organisation and Johnson asked residents and businesses to support the facility through sponsorship and donations.
