One armed robber bust, three others flee

SANDTON - A man was arrested by the Bramley police for an armed robbery on Grayston Drive in Sandton.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for Bramley police said two women were approached by four men while walking on Grayston Drive.

“One of the men was armed with a black firearm and he was wearing a blue cap and green T-shirt,” said Maphakela.

He said the other three men then grabbed the women’s handbags and the women ran towards Barlow Park. “One of the women said she found the police flying squad and explained to them what had happened,” said Maphakela.

He said the police spotted two of the suspects exiting the park and gave chase.

“The police managed to arrest one of the suspects and the property found on him was then handed back to the rightful owner,” said Maphakela.

He said the man was arrested and detained at Bramley Police Station.
