New street lights in Sandhurst

SANDHURST - Streetlights have been installed on Empire Place in Sandhurst.

This is part of City Power’s Sandhurst Streetlights Project. Ward 90 councillor Gordon Mackay said, “City Power has delivered two million [rands] worth of streetlights to Sandhurst.”

He said Sandhurst was the first suburb in Ward 90 since 1994 to have streetlights installed across the entire suburb. “It is the result of budget requests from Ward 90 for a number of years,” he added. “Increased resident pressure has also been instrumental. It is hoped that the increased lighting will add to the overall security of the ward. The initiative has been overwhelmingly welcomed by the residents.”

Street lights will also be installed in Saxon Road, Killarney Road, Oxford Avenue, Coronation Road and Cleveland Road.
