Busted for house robbery

MORNINGSIDE - Two suspects were arrested for a house robbery in Morningside.

Captain Kym Cloete, spokesperson for the Sandton police said the suspects were found in possession of stolen property. “The Sandton Detective Field Team found the suspects at a building site compound in Midrand,” said Cloete.

She said the suspects targeted a man who was at his gate fixing a light. “A white Renault passed his gate and came back at high speed,” added Cloete. “The suspects threatened him with a firearm. They took him inside the house, demanded his safe and firearm. They then went to the main bedroom and found his wife. They told both of them to lie down, and they took their jewellery, cameras, two televisions and two iPhones.”

The suspects will appear at the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on charges of house robbery.
