Presenting at the event, Tal Hewitt, Turner’s general manager for Turkey, Middle East and Africa, said last year was a bumper year for the network’s children channels and that it looked set to continue this year.

Hewitt added that in terms of performance, Cartoon Network and Boomerang have consistently ranked in the top two of DSTV children’s channels in South Africa since December last year.

Hewitt said, “Our channels have performed exceptionally well in the past year.

Persson added, “Our shows are truly creator driven and thus made with passion. We look for unique and surprising stories that have great characters which feel authentic to kids and this is more apparent than ever with the slate we have coming up. Cartoon Network is in great shape and Boomerang is its perfect partner, continuing to bring new iterations of timeless classics for all the family.”
