Free concert benefits hospital

Grand opening for Hard Rock Café.

South Africa’s reigning prince of rap, AKA and local rock legends, Prime Circle, Blues artist Albert Frost and rapper Da Les along with Brent Harris and Thee Jam, all rocked the crowd at Nelson Mandela Square with their performances. A host of actors and other entertainers also took part in the fun and dressed as iconic rock stars to celebrate the store’s location in Johannesburg.

Hard Rock owns the world’s greatest collection of music memorabilia, which is displayed at all its locations around the world. The store is also known for its collectible fashion and music-related merchandise. Johannesburg is now one of the iconic cities in which the global store operates including London, New York, San Francisco, Sydney and Dubai.

The free concert took place to benefit the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital which provides paediatric care to children, irrespective of their social and economic status. The hospital is a 200-bed specialised paediatric hospital located in Johannesburg and it is chaired by Nelson Mandela’s widow, Graça Machel.
