Police warn against smash and grabs

SANDTON - The Sandton police are once again warning motorists to be aware of smash and grab incidents.

Stand-in spokesperson for the Sandton police, Constable David Mothapo identified the intersections of Woodmead and Maxwell drives and Witkoppen and Main roads as hotspots.

“Once again we are advising motorists to be alert when approaching intersections and to lock all valuables, including handbags and laptops in the boot,” said Mothapo.

He also advised that motorists avoid speaking on their cellphones. “Cellphones are a distraction and those using them are seen by criminals as soft targets,” he said.
