Girls go batty for Beatenberg
SANDTON- Hard Rock Cafe patrons were treated to a performance by rock band, Beatenberg.
The popular Cape Town-based band performed at the iconic restaurant situated at Nelson Mandela Square.
The band comprises vocalist and guitarist Matthew Field, bassist Ross Dorkin, and drummer Robin Brink.
Teen girls rushed to the front of the stage as Beatenberg kicked off their show and fans recorded their performance on tablets and smart phones.
After the gig, the band was surrounded by fans who stood in line to take pictures with the good-looking boys.
Brink said, “We rocked hard at Hard Rock which was an incredible venue for our first Sandton show. The crowd was amazing.”
The band claimed number one spot on the 5FM Top 40 for their collaboration with DJ Clock on their track, Pluto (Remember You). It it is only the third South African song to top this hit list in the past 12 months.
The band members are fans of music by Beethoven, Debussy and John Coltrane, and like their music to be categorised as pop.
General manager of Hard Rock Cafe, Mo Capatia said, ”Live music is an intrinsic part of the Hard Rock culture and we are thrilled to have a platform to showcase South Africa’s talent and support local bands.
