Redhill pupil best orator

SANDTON - Sam Musker has been awarded Best Oralist at the International Moot Court competition for high school pupils.

Musker who is the deputy head boy of Redhill High School, won the South African National Moot Court competition held at the Constitutional Court last year.

Musker was selected as part of a South African team which competed against 160 pupils from 16 countries in the international competition. The event required pupils to represent either the prosecution or the defence in a fictional court case modelled on the proceedings of the International Criminal Court.

The finals of the competition were held in the Peace Palace, the home of the International Criminal Court, in front of judges of the International Criminal Court, the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.

The South African team placed second overall, with Venezuela placing first.
