At about 2am, two suspects jumped over the palisade fence of an office park in Katherine Street, Sandhurst, and stole aluminium in the yard.
ADT reaction officer Matome Marema, who was patrolling the area at the time, saw the suspects and apprehended them. He also recovered the stolen aluminium.
The suspects were then handed over to the Bramley police.
Clive Humphrey, managing director of ADT central region, praised Marema for his alert, professional behaviour that resulted in the suspects’ apprehension.
“Proactive patrolling provides an invaluable service to the community. Incidents such as this emphasize the important role it plays in keeping suburbs safe,” said Humphrey.
