Breast cancer survivors benefit from campaign
SANDTON - Reach for Recovery received a cheque of R414 473 to continue providing support for breast cancer survivors.

The South African Mushroom Farmers’ Association and Pick ‘n Pay celebrated the work of Reach for Recovery at The Marion on Nicol in Hurlingham. The association and Pick ‘n Pay joined forces to raise funds for the Reach for Recovery campaign. The proceeds from mushrooms bought at Pick ‘n Pay in October last year were donated to the campaign.

“It is a great honour for us to be able to assist you in your cause. We want to continue to raise people’s awareness about breast cancer and give back to the community,” said Ross Richardson, chairperson of the South African Mushroom Farmers’ Association. He went on to mention how the association was proud to have the opportunity and platform to inform people about the benefits of consuming mushrooms. “Mushrooms have great benefits in preventing breast cancer,” he added.

Beulah Jankelowitz of Reach for Recovery thanked the association and Pick ‘n Pay for their continued support. “We are all grateful for all your help. There is a lot of good work that goes into this campaign. Many women have benefited and I hope it will go on so that even more women can benefit,” added Jankelowitz.
