Woodmead - A man was robbed outside a bank in Woodmead.

Captain Kym Cloete, spokesperson for the Sandton police said the man was targeted after withdrawing a large sum of money. “He was approached by two men who climbed out of a VW Polo nearby,” said Cloete. “The third suspect remained inside the motor vehicle and the other two threatened him with a firearm and took his money.”

Three suspects in possession of the same motor vehicle were later arrested in Alexandra. They were linked to the armed robbery incident in Woodmead. “They are expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court for armed robbery soon,” said Cloete.
