Blood donations save lives

SANDTON - Since the donation of blood saved his life, 26-year-old Yusuf Degam decided to get hold of the South African Blood Service and organise a blood drive in Marlboro.

The initiative took place on 25 January at the Marlboro Sports Complex. “Our target was 30 units of blood and we managed to get 25 units,” said Degam. He added that 37 people came to register but due to some medical complications, some of the donors could not donate blood. “The South African Blood Service was happy with the turn out and they will be returning to Marlboro on 29 March,” added Degam.
