Making sure Buccleuch prospers in 2014
WARD 32 councillor Darren Bergman said the festive season was the best time to reflect on all the hard work completed throughout the year.
He said, “It is a time for reflection and an opportune time for those that have really given it their all to take some valuable time off to recharge. I want to wish everyone a safe and festive season. May 2014 be a big year for everyone in all the good ways.” Bergman described 2013 as the year of change because new parties have entered the political arena. “Hopefully this will create more competition in the political space and force politicians to keep their constituents at heart in everything they do,” he added. He was proud to announce that Buccleuch had been one of the safest suburbs to live in this year and one of the fastest growing areas. “It has become a cultural hotspot with many different religions and faiths finding home and comfort within this colourful suburb,” he said. He welcomed the upgrading of the area’s water infrastructure. “Now our storm water project will no doubt lead to less sand and erosion of our roads in Buccleuch. “With the help of the Jukskei Forum, we will hopefully be able to turn around the current pollution issues that plague all residents that live along the water,” he said. Bergman encouraged residents that had the will and wanted to keep their suburb as one of the best of the lot, to start taking an interest in the development of their community in 2014.
